8th September - talk: "The Great Gardens of Wanstead Park"

The Friends of Wanstead Parklands have arranged what promises to be a really interesting event on Wednesday 8 September.

The gardens of Wanstead House, of which the present Wanstead Park is a mere fragment, were once among the finest in the country.

Dr Sally Jeffery of Birkbeck College, University of London, will give a presentation on The Great Gardens of Wanstead Park, from 7.30 pm at the Wanstead House Community Centre, 21 The Green, London E11 2NT (at the junction of Redbridge Lane West and St Mary's Avenue).

Dr Jeffery is a renowned authority on the gardens as they developed from the late seventeenth century and is a member of the London Historic Parks and Gardens Trust.

Admission is £3.00 on the door, or £1.00 for members of the Friends.

If you would like to join the Friends before the meeting, you can contact them via -
