A vision for our open spaces?

Residents of Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Newham are very fortunate to have on their doorsteps Wanstead Park and Wanstead Flats. These, and the rest of Epping Forest, offer a unique combination of history, natural beauty and facilities for sport and recreation.

Leyton and Wanstead Labour Party has organised an open meeting to give local people the opportunity to hear the latest news about developing plans for our wonderful green spaces.

The meeting will feature presentations by Superintendent of Epping Forest Paul Thomson and Chairman of the Friends of Wanstead Parklands John Meehan. There will also be an address by Leyton and Wanstead MP John Cryer, who has been a very active advocate on the Friends' behalf. Those attending will have a unique opportunity to provide direct feedback to key people involved in the Wanstead Park project.

The Friends of Wanstead Parklands are, of course, a non-partisan organisation, with supporters from across the political spectrum. However, we greatly appreciate Labour's initiative in setting up this event. We hope there will be an excellent turnout and plenty of probing questions!

The meeting will be at 7:30pm, Friday 13 January 2017 in the Churchill Room, Wanstead Library, Spratt Hall Road, Wanstead E11 2RQ. Admission free.
