Members of the Friends of Wanstead Parklands will be holding their first litter pick of 2013 on Sunday 28 April.
We had 10 people at the last one, and covered a lot of ground. Chairman Dwight Wood said: “Everybody who took part thought it was great fun, and a good way to spend a couple of hours in enjoyable company, while contributing to the upkeep of our local environment. We hope to see lots of new faces next time”.

We will be holding an FOWP first official litter pick session that will take place twice annually.
Having obtained permission to clear the scrub on the principal Roman site in Wanstead Park, we essentially finished the job in two days – though we will be returning next week to do some tidying up. We had seven volunteers on the first day, plus the assistance of two keepers (one of whom was working in his own time), and six on the second. (more…)
In recent months we have been in discussion with Epping Forest management about the possibility of carrying out some scrub clearance in the area north of the Perch Pond. Our intention has been to extend our geophysical survey to the most probable location of the Roman villa. (more…)
